Day Surgery Information
If you have been booked in for a procedure with one of our doctors, below you will find general information about the day surgery you will be attending.
It is important that you complete the pre-admission form 7 days prior to your procedure.

GENERAL DAY SURGERY INFORMATION:
The day prior to admission, a staff member from the Day Hospital will contact you to verify your admission time.
ON THE DAY OF ADMISSION, DO NOT:
- Eat, drink or smoke
- Wear make-up or nail polish
- Wear jewellery or bring valuables with you such as large amounts of cash. The day surgery will not be held responsible for the loss of such items.
It is important that you organise your own transport arrangements prior to your admission as you are unable to drive for at least 24 hours post-surgery.
You will be at the day hospital approximately 2-3 hours from the time of admission to the time of patient discharge.
DISCHARGE FROM THE DAY SURGERY:
The recovery nurse will contact your escort to pick you up from Recovery. Written and verbal discharge instructions will be given to you in recovery. Your escort will be directed to recovery at their arrival at the day hospital so you may be discharged.
